I used to make beer – good stuff. Call some local wine stores for ideas – they may even sell a basic kit you can buy.

Making wine for the first time myself this year.Go to someone who sells the wine juice in your area, and they will have all the info and stuff you will need. I am about 2 months away from bottling time. I can't wait. I have directions myself, but this forum is not large enough to put them down here.Try Googling "Wine Making". Enjoy, and good luck. Have a great day. Also , try local wine making stores. Tasteof Wine.com

1. Get a bunch of grape juice. Five gallons worth should get you going.
2. Find a large ten gallon container, preferably clean.
3. Put the grape juice in the container.
4. Add a pound of brewer's yeast.
5. Cover the container and put it somewhere where it can't hurt anybody.
6. Go to your liquor store.
7. Buy some Mad Dog.
8. Drink that baby down and forget all about making your own wine.

wine making is easy:
what you need:
non-preserved juice (grape & apple are both popular)
yeast (specific wine or champaigne yest works best)
some sort of fermenting pail or bottle
airlock (you can learn how to make it if you don't/can't buy it)
throw it all together and when the airlock stops bubbling you can bottle.
there are many other steps you can or may want to do, but for basic wine, this is what you need

Pick up a copy of Berry's book First Steps in Home Winemaking. Go on line and purchase the equipment and most of the supplies you need. Get the rest locally. Cost, about $100 or so for the first gallon.
OR
Go to your nearest home brew store and tell the proprietor that you want to get started making wine. Let him sell you the equipment and a kit. Cost, about $200 for the first 5-gallon batch.
